Brand loyalty among U.S. car buyers rose to 51.5% in the first quarter of 2013, up two points compared with the first quarter of 2012. Cadillac from General Motors Corp. (NYSE: GM), Porsche and Mazda posted the largest gains, and Ford Motor Co. (NYSE: F) continues to lead the industry with a 65.1% loyalty rating.
The data comes from auto industry research firm R.L. Polk & Co. and counts brands with at least 1,000 new car buyers returning to the market.
Porsche led all makers, with a loyalty score increase of 9.5% to 42.1%. Cadillac was second, with a boost of 8.3% to post a score of 47.4%. Mazda increased its loyalty score by 7.8% to 37%. In all, 13 auto brands posted a larger jump in loyalty scores than the 51.5% average.

TRENTON, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) – Patients, families and advocates plan to protest what they say is New Jersey’s failure to meaningfully implement the state’s medical marijuana program.
Organizers say patients across the spectrum will speak in Trenton Friday about the troubles they’ve had with the law.
Some are patients who have medical marijuana cards but don’t have access to it. Others are unable to register.
One fully functional dispensary has opened in Montclair since the state’s medical marijuana law was signed in 2010.
A second in Egg Harbor Township received a permit on Thursday to start growing the crop. It’s not expected to open until September.
A state Senate panel has approved a bill to ease restrictions on children having access to medical marijuana.

In short, Obama is a philosophically consistent dataholic — a policy that other innovative/civil liberty-ignoring political leaders, such as Mayor Michael Bloomberg, have proudly championed.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is using his success for good. The mogul recently helped pay for slain Queen’s teen funeral, and now Variety reports, Sundance Channel has picked up “Dream School”, 50’s and Jamie Oliver’s unscripted uplifting reality series.
According to Variety, Sundance Channel signed on for six hour long episodes of the series which was formatted in the UK by Oliver. The show centers troubled teens, who are paired up with mentors from various professions including musicians, politicians, and more.
